Students, I hope this blog will be a useful tool for you as we work together to refine your writing abilities.

I'm sure you have a few questions, so I've prepared a short FAQ.

What is this?

This is a group blog that will allow everyone in the class to practice writing in English.  It's quite a different skill than speaking!

Why are we doing this?

A group blog allows each student to contribute as an individual, yet still create something that's part of a larger whole.  I think you'll agree that it's also a lot less work than starting and maintaining your own blog!

How often do I need to post?

I know you're busy, but I also know we meet only once a week.  At present, I expect one post per month.  We can discuss this in class or in the comments if you want to write more.  Of course, I welcome as many posts as you want to write!

How long do these posts need to be?

This, too, is up to you.  If you decide to write many short posts, that's great!  If you prefer to stick to the minimum of one a month, I suggest 3 paragraphs.
 

How will feedback work?  I don't want everyone to see my writing!

You can choose any name you like to post under if you prefer anonymity.  Our comment policy will be to address content over form, but as the teacher, I will still send you private corrections.  You may then edit your post or leave it as you originally wrote it.
